CHITRAKADI VATI
Introduction:
Chitrakadi Vati is used in Ayurvedic treatment of anorexia and indigestion. It improves digestion power and also increases appetite. Balances Vata and kapha. Improves Pitta. Chitraka is the name of fire in Sanskrit. It acts as an appetizer if taken before meal and as a digestive if taken after meal. It is also useful in removing fat from the tissues.

The fine powder of above ingredient is added in lemon juice or pomegranate juice and a paste is prepared. Tablets are prepared, dried and preserved.
Doses:
Children 1/2 – 1 tablet (125 – 250 mg)
Adults 1 to 2 Tablets (250 to 500 mg), before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
Avoid using for infants and during Pregnancy.
Uses:
1. Stimulates appetite by provoking digestive fire. Restores normal appetite. Useful in Anorexia. Removes Aama Dosha.
2. Useful in Gas or Flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, frequent loose stools.
3. Used as detoxifier. Removes the toxins accumulated in the body due to malabsorption of the food.
4. Useful in constipation with sticky stool and mucus in stool.
5. Regulates fat metabolism thereby helping in mobilizing over deposited fat in obesity.
6. Useful in removing white coating on tongue and sweet taste in mouth.
