ARANYAJIRAK

Introduction:

A small herb growing wild up to 3-5 feet in height. Long green leaves, Flowers are purple and fruits have hairs and strong odor, contains seeds which is mainly used in Ayurveda for treatment of skin diseases and to kill intestinal worms.

Uses:

1. Decoction of seeds or powder with honey is used to kill intestinal worms.

2. On all types of fever, decoction of dry fried seeds is given with honey.

3. Paste of seeds is applied over affected parts to cure Ringworms, Eczema, Boils, leukoderma and wounds. Also on Scalp to kill lice.

4. On inflammation due to honey bee sting, apply seeds paste in water.

5. Decoction of fruits is given for gynecological disorders, improves milk in lactating mothers.

6. Useful in respiratory disorders like Cough, Cold and Asthma.

7. Helpful in urinary tract infections and is diuretic.
