Introduction:

After a few days of rain, you will find this shrub growing wild all around up to the height of two to three feet. Used for vegetable preparation in villages. Leaves are round and three sets of leaves are found on the stem. Flowers are yellow. Pods contain seeds like fenugreek with brownish colour. Also called Dadrughna because of its use to cure Eczema, Ring worm and other skin diseases. Leaves, roots, seeds, and shoots are used for medicinal use.

Uses:

  1. Used widely to treat ringworm and other skin diseases like itching, wounds etc. Root/seed/leaf paste is applied externally for treatment.
  2. Leaf paste is applied externally on bee stings and snake bites.
  3. Decoction of leaves is useful for fever.
  4. Leaf juice is useful for asthma, cough and cold.
  5. Decoction of leaves/roots is useful in worm infection and to treat digestive disorders.
  6. Decoction of leaves/roots is useful in menstrual disorders.
  7. Root powder with ghee and sugar is useful for general debility.
